A police spokesperson reported that a collaborative operation by the Manipur Police and CRPF led to the interception of a vehicle at Tupul bridge, which was traveling from Churachandpur to Kangpokpi. Inside, authorities discovered 196 soap cases filled with suspected heroin or brown sugar, weighing 2.193 kg, with an estimated street value of ₹18 crore.

The two individuals in the car, identified as Ginminlen Haokip (24) and Holminlen Khongsal (30), were arrested. Haokip is from Kangpokpi district, while Khongsal is from Chandel district, which shares an unguarded border with Myanmar.

In another operation, police apprehended a member of the banned Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP-People’s War Group) in the Lamphel Super Market area of Imphal West. The militant, Shyamchand Singh (38), was reportedly involved in extortion in Bishnupur and Thoubal districts.

Authorities also conducted a raid on the home of a known vehicle thief, Mohammad Hefajuddin Boboy (27), in Santhel Awang Leikal, Imphal West. Moreover, security forces recovered various firearms and ammunition in Bishnupur and Kangpokpi districts, including an AK 56 rifle, a .303 rifle, a Light Machine Gun, and several shotguns.

Ongoing search operations and area dominance efforts are being conducted by security forces across the districts.

The police have issued warnings regarding the spread of rumors and fake videos, urging the public to remain cautious and verify any dubious content through the Central Control Room. They emphasized that sharing such misinformation could lead to legal repercussions and encouraged the return of any looted arms and ammunition to the authorities.
